Update 31 March 2022:
We have left our social media channel on https://hubzilla.eu created in May 2018.
Apparently Hubzilla.eu's administrator believed we were insufficiently active and deleted the login credentials to our channel - without ever informing us. As a result, we have lost our access, can't update anything, and can't even delete the channel. The Hubzilla admin details are is not specified on the site, and could only be found by a search of internet "whois" details.
Numerous requests to the administrator to simply remove the channel are being refused/ignored. Consequently we advise caution when dealing with Hubzilla type social media. You may start something that you won't be allowed to finish.
We remain on the lookout for non-FB, alternative social media presence.

Optional Information
Yet we're not on Facebook, Google or Twitter. How so?
Our new social media presence is on Hubzilla, a major platform in the open source distributed social media network. The network, also known as the Fediverse, consists of platforms Diaspora, Friendica, GNU Social, Hubzilla, Mastodon, Pleroma and others.
In a nutshell, the idea is that user data is not mined, not commercially, politically or psychologically exploited, and not used to cunningly manipulate your user experience. You own your data, you control your data, you can move your data from one place to another. So, who ever said that there is no alternative to Facebook?
You don't have to set up an account to follow us there. You do need an account to like, dislike or make a comment.
Of course, you could experiment and set up a Hubzilla channel. You need an email address and a nickname, you can use your real name, a nickname, pen name, or a page name, you can modify your login email, and your name. Your hubzilla id name is fixed, but you can change it when exporting, reimporting, cloning or removing your account.
What is "open source"?
It is software (programs /apps) developed by hundreds, sometimes thousands of volunteers and enthousiasts, without an actual owner or monetary profit taker. Revenues may be generated by donations, possibly by providing commercial services around the open source software, and in some cases subscriptions to cover running cost of operations. A notable example is the widely used Linux operating system, which is free.
What is the so-called Fediverse?
One of the earlier and larger open source Facebook alternatives is Diaspora. Another one is Friendica. Hubzilla has simpler looks, while it has extensive privacy settings and integrates the ability to create web pages. Mastodon and the newer Pleroma focus more on Twitterish short messages (microblogging). Each of these platforms runs on various volunteer servers, hence the term "distributed", as in "decentralized".
